2019 New Student Orientation Begins with SNIP

Introducing the 2018 SNIPpers!

Sep 13 2019

On September 13, Stanford Native Immersion Program (SNIP) participants will embark on a 5-day program immediately preceding New Student Orientation.  Because Stanford Native students are extremely diverse coming from many different tribes and ethnicities, villages, islands or neighborhoods, the Stanford Native Immersion Program provides an opportunity for them to learn more about their individual culture(s) and those of other SNIP participants. Now in its 31st year, SNIP continues the tradition of nurturing leadership, expanding cultural awareness and building community among the incoming class of Stanford freshmen.

Official NSO events hosted by the Native community will include an NACC Open House (1:30-3:00 Wednesday 9/18), a "Frybread & Musubi Social" (6:00-8:00 Friday 9/20), Muwekma House Ice Cream & Volleyball Social (12:00-2:00 Sunday 9/22), a Native Grad Student Dinner (TBD), and a Native Community BBQ (5:30-7:00 Friday 9/27) for all Native undergrads and grads, faculty, staff, alumni, roommates and friends.
