50th Anniversary
The 2020-2021 school year marks a monumental milestone for the Stanford Native community as we celebrate the Stanford American Indian Organization's 50th Anniversary and the 50th Annual Stanford Powwow. We have many events and programs planned throughout the year to celebrate the accomplishments of our community and we invite you to join us in our celebrations!
Harvard & Stanford Host Notable Scholars Panel
The Stanford American Indian Organization (SAIO) and Native American Cultural Center (NACC) partnered with Stanford's Native American Studies, and the Harvard University Native American Program (HUNAP) to host a panel of distinguished guests on Thursday February 11, 2021. In celebration of both Native communities' 50th anniversaries, Harvard and Stanford are collaborating to bring people together virtually in 2021 to highlight Indigneous excellence across the country.
SAIO 50th Anniversary
The Stanford American Indian Organization (formed in 1970) celebrated their 50th Birthday on October 21, 2020! Several events including "Changemakers: Alumni Panel" were planned to mark SAIO's milestone in style with the help of current students, staff, and alumni!
50th Annual Stanford Powwow
The Stanford Powwow will be celebrating their 50th Annual event on May 7-9, 2021—Mother's Day Weekend! Planning for the event is officially underway with the hopes of an in-person event. The committee will be keeping the public up-to-date on their plans, so be sure to keep up with their social media accounts for more information! Click the title link for more information.

50 for 50 Series
The SAIO 50 for 50 is a series of alumni spotlights organized by Shoney Blake '06, our indigenous alumni, and the NACC to celebrate the Stanford American Indian Organization and Stanford Powwow’s 50th Anniversaries. Each week for the 50 weeks leading up to the Fiftieth Powwow (May 2021), a different indigenous alum will be featured. Click the title to see this week’s spotlight!
